Report on the first bollard capstan in Germany

We are very pleased about an article in the current issue 11-18 of the journal “Binnenschifffahrt” by Hansa-Verlag.

In it is reported on the first bollard capstan winch in Germany, which comes from the home of the Dutch winch manufacturer Dromec, and this summer was successfully installed by the Rosemeier shipyard in Minden on the MS Aqua Verde. We wish the skipper Mr. Reinhard good time and enjoy reading!

New Hardox clamp now available

Harder steel? – No problem!
Terrier Lifting Clamps launches new Hardox lifting clamp for steel plates with a hardness of up to 50 HRC / 485 HB.

Last couple of years we have seen in several industrial sectors that there was an increasing demand of harder and exotic kinds of steel. To transport these kind of special steel sheets is in some cases quite troublesome. Even in some cases we experienced that our Terrier hardox lifting clamp was not suitable. This due to the fact that the pivot and cam assembly was not hard enough.

Normally our vertical hardox clamps could lift steel sheets (or constructions) with surface hardness of maximum 50 HRC 485 HB. Last year Terrier Lifting Clamps has developed a special hardox cam & pivot in cooperation with several specialist.  With this special cam & pivot the lifting clamps are able to lift steel sheets with a surface hardness of 55 HRC 560 HB , without compromising the durability of the lifting clamp.

With this new development we are proud to say that we are the first producer to achieve this limit of hardness with normal vertical lifting clamps.

The new Terrier hardox clamps will be available from the first of October.
